Travelogue for England and France, 2007

If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then whereever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.

— Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

Welcome! This is an online travel journal for my August 2007 trip to England and France, which covers the following destinations:

  • London
  • Bath
  • York
  • Paris
  • Versailles

Also, you should know that while I’ve embedded some photographs into the entries, many more from my trip are available on Flickr.

Enjoy!

  1. Fantastic!!
I am very jealous of your ability to journal.

I travel somewhat frequently and consistently try to record my trips, but I always fail miserably.

Do you write in a pad throughout the day? Or do you just try to recall everything in the evening.

How about adding a Page (not a Post) giving tips on making a travel journal (blog)?

  2. Congratulations on a very entertaining diary of your trips to Europe. I really enjoyed them and feel I have been to all the places myself! I have been to quite a few of them but alas was not as informed as you! My son is at the University of Bath at the moment, about to spend his 3rd year in France and Russia, it was nice to read about your visit there – hopefully if you return it will look a bit better around the station! My son loves it there and is getting homesick for Bath – we live not far from Cambridge but it doesn’t have the same appeal I’m afraid.
Your photos were excellent as well – I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your trips and looking at the beautiful pictures and justed wanted to thank you. I am looking forward to the next trip you make!
    Best wishes
